Learning Goal: I’m working on a criminal justice presentation and need support to help me learn.
The goal of this assignment is two-fold. 1) For students to identify common types of crimes that “trend” through social media and 2) explain the impact social media has on how the public perceives crime, via first person experience and narrative.
Task:
Create a PowerPoint presentation of no less than 8 slides that highlight crime in social media.
You may use your personal social media experience and accounts for this assignment. If you do not utilize social media you may research ‘viral’ crime postings to include in your assignment.
Select 6 crimes that you have an interest in. Six slides should include an image or copy of the social media post, some background on the crime, and the outcome of your selected crimes. If your selected crimes are unsolved then include those details in your slide.
Using assigned readings and videos from throughout the course as support, two slides should detail the impact these postings have on your daily life, explain how you perceive these crimes, and identify any trends on the types of crimes you see in social media.
Submission Format
Your PowerPoint should include a title slide in addition to 8 slides with content. Any sources used should be properly cited in APA format.
Use the following format when naming your file: your First Initial and Last Name with the Assignment Name.
