Public Health Issue Course Project: Public Service Announcement

Public health professionals need to translate epidemiologic information into a format the public can understand and use. For this third part of the Course Final Project, use the information collected so far to create a public service announcement (PSA) that educates the at-risk population about the problem and steps they can take to protect their health. Specifically:

Inform the target audience about the health risk.
Provide compelling but manageable pieces of data aimed at convincing members of the target population of the need to take specific steps to protect their health.
Direct the target audience to appropriate channels in their public health system and/or organizations that provide resources, screening, treatment, or support for the specific health risk.
Instructions
Determine the appropriate medium to deliver the announcement to your target audience. You may choose to create a one-page flier, an infographic, poster, informational handout, radio ad, or television ad.
You may want to consider health behavior theory as you develop your PSA.
If you choose to create an audio or video file, use the following instructions:
Use the Zoom Tutorials to help you record your video. After your recording is complete, be sure to turn on closed captioning.
Submit the Zoom URL for your video by copying and pasting the URL into the submission box. Do not upload a video file.
If you choose a print medium, create it and submit as a Word document, pdf file, slide, or other file type as appropriate.
Also submit a 1-page document with the following:
The health issue
Your target audience
Why you chose the format, content, and language style
Why you think your PSA will be effective.
