Hi Mildred I agree with you on an effective teacher has to build a relationship with students and parents. To accept all cultures in the classroom. More than ever we see a diverse classroom with all types of race and nationality. We can accomodate each culture and accept their traditions and values. We can start by having multicultural books, dolls and other materials that show diversity. Try celebrating each holiday from different countries. We can have parents bring in a special dish from their country to share among each other. By exposing the students to different cultures you teach them to accept and respect everyone. Let the students present something from their culture. This will build a positive relationship with parents and students. By letting them see that you respect them and where they come from.
