A critical skill of an Emergency Manager is the ability to evaluate material associated with the Emergency Management Cycle and provide feedback to those that are part of your community or organization so that everything is done to mitigate and prepare for any emergency or disaster that may impact you.
This week I want you to choose one of your classmate’s documents; evaluate it and provide feedback to him/her. Even though we all used the same fictitious city, each may have viewed the hazards, priorities, and risks differently. Please provide constructive feedback; feedback that will assist them in making their documents better. Remember, we will use these documents to assist us in developing the EOP in EDMG220.
Instructions
Follow the instructions this week’s entry in the Assignments area of the classroom to compile and submit your HVA documents.
Create a post in this week’s discussion and attach your HVA documents.
Provide an introduction to your HVA with a summary of what you think the highest vulnerability is for the evaluated location and why. Also write about any insights you had regarding the process of filling out these documents.
Provide substantive feedback on one of your peers.
Choose a peer that does not yet have feedback. Post an initial reply stating your intent to review, and then return and edit that placeholder with your thoughtful remarks.
Make note of hazards and ratings that you agree with as well as any that you think your peer may have overlooked or undervalued; provide your reasoning.
Also comment on your peer’s reflection on the process of creating their HVA.

This week I want you to choose one of your classmate’s documents; evaluate it and provide feedback to your classmate. Even though we all used the same fictitious town of Bobsville, each may have viewed the hazards, priorities, and risks differently. Please provide constructive feedback; feedback that will assist them in making their documents better. Remember, we will use these documents to assist us in developing the EOP in EDMG220.
