NURS 6451 WK2: A COMPARISON OF KEY EVALUATION MODELS IN HEALTH INFORMATICS
Both professionals and students are aware of the inherent value of evaluations. Your efforts to improve your own performance or that of your team are fueled by your ability to measure performance and utilize feedback. Your efforts to succeed academically likewise benefit from assessments, scores, and feedback from instructors. In both instances, the stakes are high, and evaluation has a direct connection to goal achievement.
The same is true for healthcare information technology, and the means to evaluate such aspects as health informatics can have a direct impact on efforts to improve health outcomes. With the stakes so high, there is significant interest in developing effective approaches to the evaluation of health informatics systems, with formal models developed to help guide efforts. The ability to examine and explain these models to stakeholders can be a critical early step toward implementation.
As part of this course, you develop an evaluation plan based on an appropriate model. For this Assignment, you examine in depth the models introduced in this week's Learning Resources. Increasing your familiarity with these key models may help you more easily recognize which would be most appropriate for the evaluation you decide to perform.
DAY 7
Create graphic representations of four evaluation models. Use MS Word to create your graphic. Your graphic should include:
· Descriptions of each overall model
· Key components of each overall model
· An important figure or figures in the development of each model
· Significant ways each model has been used
· Potential uses of each model in health informatics
These representations will be for your use in your upcoming course project, so the greater the detail, the more useful these representations will be to you.
Potential formats could include, but are not limited to, tables, mind maps, Venn diagrams, or concept maps.
Reminder: The College of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The Sample Paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements (available at ). All papers submitted must use this formatting.
