A thorough response will illustrate an understanding of the relevant material by thoroughly and correctly addressing the relevant content; identifying and explaining key concepts/ideas; using correct terminology; and explaining the reasoning behind key points/claims. Research should be from four different academic sources (one of which can be your text book and at least one other peer reviewed journal article or scholarly book). The most common academic sources are journal articles, conference papers and books. However, a variety of other sources may also be relevant to your discipline, such as websites, reports, brochures, films and television or radio programs.
For this assignment, students will select an occupation within the criminal justice system that interests them. Students will do research on the occupation and the field. The following sections must be addressed in the essay:
Describe the selected occupation and provide a history of the occupation.
Explain the occupation’s function and importance to the criminal justice system.
Select an agency that utilizes the occupation and explore the job requirements and duties.
