Discuss the connection between a persons emotional intelligence and his/her effectiveness in interpersonal skills. In other words, explain how ones level of emotional intelligence affects his/her tendencies in interpersonal situations, and how these tendencies shape the co-created outcomes he/she experiences with others. In your answer, use specific aspects of emotional intelligence covered in class to describe how effective one will tend to be interpersonally. Identify the competencies related to emotional intelligence covered in class, readings and/or TED Talks that will help or hinder ones effectiveness as an interpersonal communicator and explain why a higher level of emotional intelligence can enhance the outcomes one experiences with others.
