Different examples of Buddhist and Hindu architecture

We studied a few different examples of Buddhist and Hindu architecture over this past week, discovering some of the similarities and differences between the two.

For this project, please compare and contrast these two examples (above): The Buddhist Great Stupa of Sanchi (on the left) and the Hindu Kandariya Mahadeva Temple (on the right).

Considering the site, purpose/function, form, materials, decoration, and intended use, discuss their similarities and differences: what do these two examples have in common? What distinguishes them from one another?
Your response should be 300-400 words in length.
