o In this final paper, explore one aspect of addiction. For example you may focus on a specific substance (illicit or licit drug or alcohol), type of addiction, treatment of choice for a specific addiction, form of evaluation (instrument assessment and/or interview), prevention issue, treatment modality, theory of addiction, effect of addiction on family, particular cultural or ethnic group, other populations affected by substance abuse etc
o Please choose a topic that is relevant to you and your future practice
– It is suggested that the paper include the following sections and anything else that may be relevant to you
– Abstract
o Follow APA guidelines for length. Include subject information, type of design and results. Don’t go into too much detail – 120 word limit
– Introduction
o What are you writing about and why?
– Literature Review
o Key points based on literature review
– Analysis
o What are your findings? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the material you are citing? How does it relate to other material you have learned about addictions
– Discussion
o What does all this information mean? What are the implications for clinical practice?

o Include at least six references that are articles from peer-reviewed journals. You may also include readings from the course.
