Teachers are expected to have great communication skills with students and other adults that are part of their students lives. Some strategies teachers can use to communicate with
their audiences can include the use of technology. Technology has different tools students can use to support them. Technology has audio that can help communicate books and videos. Another strategy that can be used is drawing. Students can ask adults or adults can ask students to draw something if they can’t verbally communicate something. Writing can also be used to communicate with students.
There are four language systems, and they are phonological, syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic. Phonological refers to the sound patterns of a language. Syntactic refers to the grammatical arrangement of words. Semantic refers to the meaning of words, phrases, texts, and symbols. Pragmatic refers to the rules that occur within social situations.
All four language systems mentioned above assist teaching culturally and linguistically diverse students by guiding them. They guide students by showing them the appropriate ways to break apart and put together words. The language systems mentioned are beneficial to students because it gives them various ways to approach words and understanding them.
