Acceptable Use Policy

You’re a wealthy owner of a shiny new internet provider called The Interwebs. However, your Acceptable Use Policy, which outlines what behavior is acceptable from users of your service, has been raising eyebrows around Silicon Valley. Your current policy seems very light. Write a new policy to suitably outline the behavior required of users using your internet service before you get into more hot water!
Start by researching the requirements of an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) in New York . To get started, you can read the requirements for an AUP in the State of Virginia here:
Virginia Department of Education – Acceptable Internet Use Policy
You can also find many examples of AUPs through a Google search. Here is a sample from EarthLink, an internet service provider similar to yours:
Earthlink Policies and Agreements.
For the final activity, you’ll submit the requirements of an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for The Interwebs. Your AUP should include the following elements:
• Legal requirements
• Listing of unacceptable behaviors
• List of violation consequences
• User rights
• Information gathering and ISP usage
• Disclaimers & User Responsibilities
