DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE

Use the essays “Don’t Feed the Haters” and “How to Deal with the Jerk at Work” as
models/inspiration to analyze the science behind different strategies that people use to deal with
interpersonal conflict.
Option 1a.
Analyze a specific type of person is difficult for you to deal with (e.g. people who refuse to wear masks/vaccinate,
people who do not support BLM, peers/classmates/teachers who make sexist comments, food-service
customers, engineering colleagues, etc.)
Option 1b.
Analyze a specific relationship that you have with someone who is difficult for you to deal with at times because
of a specific conflict (e.g. your mom, dad, brother, sister, grandma, grandpa, etc. who may have different views
