Women (and Paul): Summarize Paul’s views on women and compare them to the other glimpses we have seen of women in the ancient world. Are women and their place in society perceived similarly in most cultures and in most times? What differences, if any, do you note and how would you account for those differences? Has there been a shift in this perception? Why and/or why not? It may be useful to consider Paul’s possible reaction to modern womanhood in the West.
