Essay:
Use these as a guide for your APA headings.
Introduction: Along with a SHORT description of the movie, this paragraph should discuss what the paper will address, that information is below. Remember that each paragraph should include a minimum of three sentences.
Character: Choose a character from the movie. (It does not have to be the most obvious character, any of them will do.) Describe the character, their behavior, and crime(s) they committed. This may include some description of what the movie was about, but do not spend too much time in this area and do not repeat what you already said in the intro paragraph. Primarily this section should focus on introducing/describing your character.
Theoretical analysis: Choose ONE of the Social Conflict Theories from Chapter 9 for this Module. Provide a discussion about the theory and a theorist who proposed/supported the theory. Then provide a complete and thorough explanation of how the theory explains the behavior of the character you chose. (Yes, you may be making assumptions about the character to support the thesis, make them). You must use APA citations and references to your textbook to support your analysis. While you are not expected to use any other source, if you do, it must be an academic source (not Wikipedia or any other encyclopedia or dictionary). Additionally, not using the required textbook will negatively impact your grade.
Implications for public policy: Finally, connect your character and theory with policy. Each chapter includes a discussion on public policy. Using this information, what policy could be derived from this theory and crime to prevent future crimes, like the one committed by your character. For instance, using demonological approach and the movie The Exorcist, what policy would prevent kids in the future from being possessed by evil spirits and killing priests?
Conclusion: Any good paper should include a conclusion. Conclusions do not introduce new ideas, but review the ones presented.
