The authors of the textbook discuss how both early and contemporary Christians interpret the Old Testament in both its original context and from a “radically new perspective – in light of the Messiahship of Jesus and the new age inaugurated by his coming.” (Klein, Blomberg, Hubbard Jr., 32) In light of this, write a 3-page paper that discusses in detail the meaning and significance of the three interpretive methods for how the Apostles and early Christians interpreted the Old Testament. Given the three interpretive methods discussed above, interact with the following passages in light of those methods: Matthew 2:17; Romans 12:17-21; 1 Timothy 5:17-18. Make sure to discuss both the original Old Testament context of each passage and how the New Testament authors understood it given the coming of the Lord Jesus.
