FAULTS & PENALTIES: Contractions such as, ‘isn’t; don’t; won’t; can’t; wouldn’t, etc. 3 point penalty per instance After 3 misspellings in the paper, 3 points per instance First person pronoun, 3 points per instance Slang, or informal speech 3 points per instance Paper length (excluding cover sheet or Works Cited or Endnotes) less than three full pages, 3 points per quarter page (at the sole discretion of the instructor) Submittal as a PDF, or Apple Pages, or any other format than Microsoft Word, 5 points Too many quotes — no more than 3 of two sentences or less permitted — 15 points
