The study of women and crime

The study of women and crime is one that has garnered much attention in the last few decades, especially since the introduction of new victimization theories. Discuss, in detail, how the study of women and crime/victimization has changed since the early feminist criminology movement. More specifically, speak to some of the major theoretical contributions (at least two) that continue to shape our perception on the role of society in a woman’s experience with crime and victimization and how the evolution of the definition of rape may have attributed to this shift in perception. Additionally, are researchers finding the same effects and outcomes when studying victimization across different racial groups? Explain why or why not.
