Design an interior square column

Learning Goal: I’m working on a construction discussion question and need the explanation and answer to help me learn.

Design an interior square column for the ground floor of a three story building. The connection of the ground floor column to the foundation is considered to be pinned. The columns are not braced against sidesway and are bending in a single curvature. The loads acting on the first-floor interior column due to gravity and wind are as follows: P dead load = 380k P live load = 140k P wind load = 0 M dead load = 32 k-ft (top) and 54 k-ft (bottom) M live load = 20 k-ft (top) and 36 k-ft (bottom) M wind load = 50 k-ft (top) and 50 k-ft (bottom) All columns are 21×21, all beams are 16×24. Use fC=4,000 psi, fy=60,000 psi.
