In this situation, Maria has the potential to violate a number of different guidelines. First of all, in the event she takes on too many clients and is subject to supervising BCBA graduate students, she potentially will not be able to delegate her time effectively between all parties, resulting in a potential break in Guidelines 2.01, 3.01 and 3.03, which delineates her responsibility to the clients and providing them with effective treatment within her reasonable capabilities. They may not receive the most high quality ABA services, should Maria feel overwhelmed and only spend minimal time on each case because she has taken on too many. In terms of her responsibility to her supervisees, Section 4 of the BACB code lists multiple guidelines by which Maria should abide so that she can appropriately supervise, give feedback, and train those under her. If she feels overwhelmed, just as she has a responsibility to her clients, she has obligations towards her RBTs as well.
