Instructions: In this course, we discuss various theories that influence a child’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development. Draw from these
theories as you evaluate the learning environment in the virtual classroom (see video below). Write a 300-500 words summary (double-spaced) describing
your observation of classroom behaviors and learning activities.
As you are observing, consider the effectiveness (or lack thereof) of the classroom flow and lesson plan for the day. Here, think about whether, for example,
the learning activities are building on existing knowledge. Are these developmentally appropriate and at skill level? Is the right amount of support being
provided to students to advance their learning? Is there any indication that the physical, social, and emotional development of students are factors
incorporated into the learning environment?
In your summary, be sure to objectively describe what you observed in general, non-interpretive, non-judgmental, jargon-free terms. Provide as much detail as
necessary for the reader to grasp with clarity what you observed and address as many of the above questions as are applicable. Identify at least two
development theories or framework that we’ve covered in this class and describe how the teacher’s instructional practice aligns with the given theory. In your
answer, please cite specific elements of the theory, framework, or benchmark that are demonstrated by the teacher.
