Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to show two sides of a controversial law. You will work individually to choose a controversial local, state, or federal, or international law from 2022-2023 only. Please be specific about the year, state, authors, and intention of the law.

Write a paper that discusses both sides of a law by following the steps below. Submit these papers to Canvas. Please note that Canvas will use Turnitin to identify unoriginal or AI-generated writing.
Follow Steps 1-4 to receive a high grade:
STEP 1: Find a law and announce it in Canvas under “Law Analysis Selections.” Pick another law if your law was already chosen. Please be specific about the year, state, authors, and intention of the law.
Write a paper following these guidelines:

Introduction – provide a brief history of the law and its intentions. End the introduction with a thesis and a separate preview (the preview should state, “In this paper, I will discuss the pro and con sides of ___.”)
PRO side (2 paragraphs) – write 2 paragraphs that capture the 2 most compelling arguments that support the law. Use at least 2 credible, recent, and unbiased sources for each paragraph argument. The topic sentences of the paragraphs should resemble the following wording: “The first pro argument is …“
CON side (2 paragraphs) – write 2 paragraphs that capture the 2 most compelling arguments that oppose the law. Use at least 2 credible, recent, and unbiased sources for each paragraph argument. The topic sentences of the paragraphs should resemble the following wording: “The first con argument is … “
Conclusion – summarize the pro and con. End with at least 4 sentences that explain what side you think is the strongest side (pro or con).
