You are to select a myth about trauma, research the myth, find its origins, and find fact to counter the myth. There are several examples of trauma myths, some of which include “men don’t get raped”, “only weak people experience trauma”, and “people who experience trauma usually get PTSD”. In your paper, be sure to tell me the source of information that started the myth, why you think the myth was believed (based on what you’ve researched), and what is factually true instead. Please use peer-reviewed, scientific journal articles to bring truth to the myth. You will be graded on your ability to thoroughly research and understand the origins of the myth, as well as your use of resources and communication of the truth you find in science.
