Johnny has overslept again and will be late to work for the third time this week. He has increased his alcohol use significantly after discovering 6 months ago that he will no longer have custody of his 7-year old daughter. Johnny has recently been drinking 2 pints of vodka every night by himself in his apartment and cannot stop this habit. In the mornings he experiences hand tremors, vomiting, profuse sweating, and mild visual disturbances. Johnny has thought about suicide several times recently and uses alcohol to suppress his depressive feelings. Since he has been missing work, Johnny is also in jeopardy of being fired and losing his housing.
