Read the assigned paper on Leadership Competencies. (Read Chapters 2 and 3 in the textbook, and Section 2, Broad Analysis in the Workbook Chapters 5-10).
It provides a solid foundation on important leadership competencies by Carson and Dye (2006). Go to the text/workbook and learn about PEST analysis. The chapters are rather short, and the book is designed to be used as a strategic tool that many health systems employ every day around the county. We are now in the second edition, and it should be clear. Do go beyond the brief chapter in the book on these subjects to complete assigned papers, and you will need to find additional sources which will be easy. Complete a 4–5-page paper to address the competencies described, and how you would use those competencies to effectively lead an organization through PEST. All papers must be appropriately cited and include references from appropriate academic sources.
