Prepare a critical analysis of a scholarly, peer-reviewed research article on instructional practices for diverse populations, and/or issues related to antiracist/anti-biased education, and/or historical and contemporary trends in multicultural reforms. The research should not focus on ESL, literacy, or language
instruction.
You may also choose a research article related to a specific cultural group. In this case the research must be applicable to an educational setting. For
example, a research article on Puerto Rican families can help educators relate more meaningfully to their students and their families.
A critical analysis extends beyond presenting information. Depending on the nature of the article being reviewed, your critical analysis may evaluate the
validity, usefulness, applicability, generalizability, quality, etc. of the work.
APA formatting is required, and citations and references are required. (NYSESL Standard 5, INTASC Standards 1-10, TESOL/NCATE Standards 2a, 2b)
