Never Cry Wolf can be read as a researcher’s coming of age story. Reflect on the challenges that Mowat faces while conducting his research. Write a three-page paper (double-spaced, 12 pt.) discussing one valuable, original lesson that can be gleaned from his narrative. You may consider his preconceptions, logistical setbacks, communication difficulties (with Ottawa and with the Inuit), the isolation (on more than one level), or anything else that resonates with you. This is the most personal of the three potential topics, but if you choose this one be sure to discuss plenty of examples from the text (with page numbers). Do not talk around the book, but draw upon specific examples and quotes to make your point. Include an introduction (with a concise, specific thesis statement), a body, and a conclusion in the paper.
