Create a research proposal that follows the outline below.
Research Study – State the research problem your study will investigate, including its background. 10
Purpose of the Research – State the purpose of the study. Typically, the purpose is to contribute to knowledge and solve the research problem. You must have four academic sources describing your proposed research topic. 15
Significance of the Study – Describe the significance of your study’s investigation of the research problem. Include a statement of why your study is important in the field of management. Use your four academic sources to explain why your research is important. 15
Research Question – Your research question must be stated in the form of a question.
Examples of research questions are:
What factors affect customer satisfaction in retail stores selling smartphones?
What traits do CEOs in the banking industry possess that make them effective? 10
Variables – State what you will be measuring
Examples of variables measuring customer satisfaction are: price of the product, quality of the product, ease of use, and appearance of the product. 15
Qualitative or Quantitative – In this section describe whether your research project will be qualitative or quantitative? Explain the difference between qualitative and quantitative. If you were to carry out this project what would you need to do? Would you use interviews, surveys, or other methods? 15
Hypotheses – State your null and alternative hypotheses for your research. You must use your variables. If you are measuring customer satisfaction, then you could have:
Ho (null hypothesis): The ease of use does not affect customer satisfaction.
Ha (alternative hypothesis): The ease of use affects customer satisfaction 10
Conclusion – Explain the next steps in answering your research question. How would you proceed if asked to complete the research? 10
