These are your Guidelines for preparing your Final Research Paper for this course. The paper is due on Week 15 but it is not too soon for you to begin your
preparations now.
Step 1: Choosing a Book to Analyze
Your final research paper will follow the same format as your analysis of Tzili and Story of a Life. You will choose one of the books on the attached list to
read and write a complete Literary Analysis paper that will include a Character and Plot Analysis, a Connotation and Theme Analysis, and an Artistic Qualities
Analysis. The paper must also include a section containing the historical backgroudn for the book as well as biographical information about the author. If you
choose to write your analysis on one of the poets you need to write your analysis on the entire book and choose one poem that is NOT a poem by that author
that was already analyzed in class on the Discusison Board to analyze in detail for this paper. If you choose to write on Tadeusz’ Borowski’s one book of short
stories, you also must write your analysis on the entire book and choose a story OTHER than “This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen” to analyze in
detail. You may not write an analysis of anythign that was already analyzed in class earlier in the semester.
You may choose one of the Holocaust books or one of the non-Holocaust books that deal with another group of people who have a history of persecutoin
and oppression.
