Diversity in the workplace.

 

SCENARIO: You have just become CEO of a global corporation. Your goal is to have your employees and customers reach their full potential respective to their roles.

Differences involve opinions, ideas, options, methods, skills, race, gender, jobs, age, culture, interpretation, values, and environment.
Identify a strategy a manager can implement to benefit from the differences in a group and ensure differences will not escalate.
(Escalating Intensity: Awareness of differences, discomfort, annoyance, irritation, heightened tension, frustration, open disagreement, anger, hostility, conflict/war.)

Define the following two terms in the workplace, then examine how both can be achieved in the workplace through embracing and empowering individual uniqueness, and diversity.
Equality – the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.
Equity – the quality of being fair and impartial.

Provide an action plan to address diversity in the workplace.
