Project: My project proposal is to investigate the importance of community gardens in minority communities. These communities are where clusters of migrant families reside due to many factors including family history to the area, sense of cultural unity as well economic factors. I plan on starting my project by analyzing data to understand “Where” the location of these areas are as well how many community gardens exist in those specific areas. The second part of the project would be to investigate “Who” in the community is involved (and if access is easy granted), “What” produced is grown and if there are any links to the chosen produce to their cultural background (the “Why”). Lastly, I want to highlight the importance of the community garden as a source of substance and cultural identity within that community.
