This project will consist of the student visiting various traditional and alternative lifestyle organizations, then writing a paper comparing and contrasting the commonalities and the differences within each group.
● Visit a Planned Parenthood clinic Vs regular doctor’s clinic.
● Visit a LGBT organization in campus Vs any other student organizations.
● Visit an adult Sex Shop vs. regular clothing store.
● A porno movie Vs regular movie.
● Or any other pre-approved projects, remember you must compare and contrast.
The written report shall be 3-5 pages, with a cover sheet that is not included in the 3-5 pages. The cover sheet shall have the topic area listed, date, student’s name and instructor’s name. Step out of your comfort zone and experience something different with this assignment. Try something you haven’t done before.
Answer the following questions in your written report:
- Why did you choose this social learning project?
- What were the commonalities between the two and what are the differences?
- Describe your attitudes, emotions, and feelings about the social learning experience. Did this experience change your feeling about the people/places involved in the experience?
- Discuss the relevant “dimensions” of sexuality (as we discussed in class) or any other course readings/lectures.
- Evaluate the value of the project to you as a student of human sexuality class.
- Would you recommend this experience to others? Why or why not?
